Fernando Alonso's battle to stay ahead of Lewis Hamilton in Canada was made harder by a non-existent fuel system problem.

Alonso was told to lift and coast because AM thought that he had some issues with the fuel system, which turned out to be a false alarm. However, Mercedes interpreted that the issue was the brakes.
