That scene was always utterly hysterical to me. Just how suddenly Worf just beats the shit out of a woman out of fucking nowhere. Like what the hell are you doing bro. It’s framed and filmed in such a way that its not an obvious decision to make either. Especially when I didn’t know Klingons at the time. Worf suddenly back handing her and her being basically fine with it just hit my funny bone in a way I never expected. There was nothing that ever could have prepared me for the sudden culture shock. Riker had no damn excuse but at least I did.

The klingon/human dichotomy is fascinating.
In many ways humans and klingons are quite similar, it’s just that what klingons think of as strengths, humans often think of as weaknesses, and vice versa.
A klingon will brag of how many people they have killed, but be too ashamed to admit to avoiding war.
In the star trek universe, humans are proud of solving problems non-violently through diplomacy, and are often ashamed of having to use violence.
Leads to a lot of misunderstandings and conflict. It’s only with time that the klingons learn that humans (and the federation) are capable warriors and far less weak/meek than they initially appeared. Once they realise this, it’s inevitable that the relationship between the two thaws, as they learn to respect each other.
@Stamets Klingon cuddle dungeons are definatley a thing. My wife has been threatening me with them for years.

@Stamets uhm, you secretly hide away from society and cuddle your loved one in a gentle manner. Exhibitionist would do so in an open door hotel room, but outside of perhaps some very specific convention situations, this would be heavily frowned upon.
