Summary

Elon Musk is accused of censoring right-wing accounts on X after at least 14 conservative users who criticised his immigration stance said their blue verification ticks were revoked, restricting their ability to monetize.

Musk, who called anti-immigration Republicans “hateful racists,” has long supported skilled immigration.

Critics allege this violates his “freedom of speech” policy, accusing him of “shadowbanning” dissenters.

The controversy arises amid heated US immigration debates, partly sparked by Donald Trump’s appointment of Indian-born Sriram Krishnan as an AI adviser, a move Musk supported.

Free speech absolutist, huh? I think Elon got the words “absolutist” and “abolitionist” mixed up.

Well journalists can get sued and have to defend their wording, so this is a kind of wording that they cant get sued for.

Which is exactly what some conservative said when his account was diverified.

These people don’t realize that the same concentric cone of fascism that they loved and voted for just targeted them.

What’s amusing is that I’ve seen Nazis on the 'net openly state that there will be “peace” if everyone bows to white supremacy and lets fascism rule, that is. They say the same thing about “free speech” - they demand free speech for all, mostly themselves, until they seize power. Then all speech must agree with their views…or else.

They openly admit this when they can hide behind nyms and so on. Very interesting how Elon’s behavior on “free speech” more or less maps right onto this. Whines about “free speech” on Xitter before he owns it, then takes ownership, and exercises all kinds of censorship on those he disagrees with.

It’s simple really. If it doesn’t agree with him, that’s not speech, that’s just a barbarian’s gibberish. So the free speech is clearly preserved. Clearly.

      Its literally digital class system.

      • Top: the biggot himself
      • his chosen (gifted) ones
      • the suckers who pay
      • Bottom: the poor and the disgraced (social censorship)

Everyone not on the platform doesn’t exist. (Technical censorship)

Do not question your god king or you will end your days as one of the poor, or worse you’ll be vanished.

He also canceled people’s subscription to the targeted accounts and reduced the visibility of any account that gets blocked or muted by a number of accounts with larger follower counts.

The only speech Musk believes should be free is his own. That is a remarkably consistent stance with nearly all other conservatives.

Imagine for a fucking moment that you declared yourself in favor of free speech while also dictating how others should identify themselves. Trans identification brought this to an absurdist level but conservatives have always been in favor of extremely stringent limits on self-expression.

Musk means a bit of each, but the ability to exploit others for his own gain takes priority.

Musk is only “America first” because it’s the best place for his business.
He now essentially owns the government.
He has paid a shit ton for the election. He has government contracts.
        Elon Musk is America.

When (some) people realise what Elon Musk actually is, what America actually is, they are gonna be disgusted (I know that there are a lot of people that already see this).

        America should be awesome.
        But it has sold out
