The rest of us do what we can, when we can, but disjointed and unorganized.

The country is geographically massive and your average citizen is both poor and uneducated, both politically and otherwise, by Western standards. Now that large swaths of worker’s livelihoods are being devastated they may have more time on their hands.
I won’t hold my breath for “Occupy Washington”, but when the next movement comes it will be met with intense and violent opposition. Hopefully a silver lining may be a wake up call, far too late.

The US political system is thoroughly broken but it’s not changed much leading up to the Trump era, it’s really the news media that made Trump happen right now.
It started in the 80s with cable news and continues today with toxic podcasts and social media. People are like your annoying ex-girlfriend - they don’t want to be told the truth, they just want to be validated. Billionaires and con artists (and billionaire con artists) have figured out how to use newer forms of media to exploit that tendency and I think it’s still getting worse. Eventually like all predators they’ll overconsume their prey but there’s a lot of suckers in the world for them to run through first.
The Democrats literally kept shifting right until they finally were endorsed by war criminals. Just because they were socially left didn’t make them in any other sense actually left. And the GOP aren’t socially right, (No problem with Thiel) they just use wedge issues, in conjunction with the Democrats, while both parties moved so far economically right, they voted to allow themselves criminal activities withheld from Joe Average, like insider trading. Martha Stewart was extremely wealthy when she was convicted of that, but she wasn’t a politician, and yes, women are still an underclass. And I don’t think that really matters, it’s just another dumb wedge to keep the plebs infighting.

I don’t think for a second that any really meaningful classified information can be leaked without immediate consequences. And that is usually troop movements or locations.
