Today I found two nazi nitrogen bottles at work. The swastikas were filled in post-war.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but wouldn’t Febuary of 1953 have been a little late for a swastika stamping? Or was that there before the test date stamps?
This is a Nazi stamping. They are still in circulation. Those date stamps are changed constantly. I work for the company that owns them. They are old as shit. We are based out of Germany and they pop up every now and then but most have been recycled.
Metal lasts forever as long as you don’t use CO2.
But why does it say 2 - 53? Is it the due date and the bottle was manufactured in 1943?
That is when the retest is due. You can see at the bottom the latest one is 08. So it’s been in circulation for 70 years. Black is nitrogen in international standards. So very believable.
I’m pretty sure the tanks are not that old. And if they are they might want to replace them…
I had a conversation with a local gas distributor one time, and he said for low pressure bottles (C02 was mentioned specifically, but idk about n2) there is no age limit on bottles, they get tested every year, and if they pass the get recertified and kept in circulation. He said the oldest one he saw was from the 1890s
I work in the industry. 1000 percent correct on all accounts.
In Germany bottles that old still pop up from time to time. Some oldie dying and his family clearing the age old garage or shop happens quite regularly.
Bro what?
its a ms windows symbol, that used to be a swastika
No it isn’t.
Yes it is.
no, its yes’nt
I personally can prove it. But I’m not losing my job over an Internet discussion. There are many cylinders still in circulation from the 1900s.
This is not one.
1948 isn’t from the 1900s?
I’ve heard about these before. This is my first time seeing one.
