I actually learned of this when the Material You Home Assistant addon updated yesterday. Kudos to the dev for being extremely on the ball.
Years later we’ll find a full disclosure how Google managed to infiltrate many systems through their font exploits.
- having decent fonts is a core need for them. It’s not crazy that they spend so much effort on them.
- google fonts cdn is used for tracking. It’s not a secret.
I mean an exploit like NSA’s Speck was to Linux.
It would actually be great if corporations would support GNU FreeFont. But we comprehend capitalist incentives very well.
