No, in fact some people are misdiagnosed adhd when they are actually lazy
I agree, was just curious thank you.
Is it any different from the existing vegan community?
Other responses are kind of fence-sitting so I’m gonna go out on a limb here and say yeah it’s poor taste, but forgiveable. I think it just boils down to why would you use a skin tone that’s not yours? Some people like having an emoji that’s they share with others of their color, so why intrude on that?
Then what is your explanation for black and brown people more likely to use the skin toned emojis, as has been mentioned so much in this thread? Are they less lazy than white people, or care more about it? If they care more about it, then why?
White dude here. I use the white skin emojis, but honestly I think it’s just because I see my black and brown friends use their skin tones as a rule, and I feel like using the yellow tone is a bit weird when others are using the skin tone customization.
I’m not ashamed of my skin color or anything and the phone remembers my last tone selection so I don’t really see a reason to not use it.
All and probably most Local feeds are negative. If you’re looking for a more positive experience, you should change the way you interact with Lemmy and the Fediverse.
First, you should investigate different instances (or consider hosting your own) and find one that sounds like it has a better vibe. Then use the Local feeds instead of All.
Second, look for better communities. Many people complain about there being different iterations of communities but this is where that’s a strength of Lemmy’s structure. If the news community you’re frequenting is too full of downers, then look into different news communities. Or- again- if you’re feeling up to it, make your own and advertise it as a light-hearted community, then moderate it as such.
I don’t know what you’re referencing, sorry if im a bit dense haha
Absolutely, and it’s infuriating. The only thing that can stand between criminals and sociopaths is the vote, and a too much of the vote is controlled by morons.
Yes, and it’s important that felons be able to run for president. Were that not the case, a corrupt enough system could just disqualify anyone that would seek to oust it.
Try to improve lemmy/fediverse 100%
I think it’s useful if it’s a feature you can choose to activate or deactivate yourself on specific groups of communities, but it sounds awful if the decision is made for you.
Heck yeah I’ve been meaning to find some more weird west media.
I was responding to the second paragraph where they said that Democrats need to message better. I believe a lot of the topics they gave as examples that the Democrats could push in their messaging was in the State of the Union.
Did you watch the State of the Union?
The economy is a really easy target for someone to point to to claim a president is doing well or poorly. Really whenever someone makes a claim about “the economy” in general without specifying which metrics they’re talking about and why those are relevant, they’re full of it and just using it to make the list of pros or cons longer.
I’m still in my 20s and I’m more or less a layman as far as economics go. Ever since I started paying attention to politics, the economy has simultaneously been doing extremely well and poorly depending on who you ask, and they can use a whole mess of different metrics to explain why they’re right. Meanwhile the only thing I really notice is the price of gas, groceries, or rent.
It seems that we live in two different economies: a good one for people that support the president, and a bad one for those that don’t.
Just wanna point out to the thread in general that this isn’t just surveying a bunch of people asking “on a scale of 1-10 how happy are you?”
The World Happiness Report uses six factors as predictors of life evaluation: GDP per capita, social support, healthy life expectancy, freedom to make life choices, generosity, and corruption.
Edit: the video linked actually doesn’t make much mention of the survey mentioned in the headline.

Because we are better than most countries by these metrics
It does look miserable but if the bus stop was before the landing then would it not prevent cars trying to take the turn before the island?
