There are more. So many more. I just got tired of copying and pasting.
Even if we do a version where the NPC is coughing up gallons of water, that’s effectively a save or die spell. The NPC can’t cast, fight effectively or run away.
If you allow that usage then create water becomes one of the most powerful spells in the game.
The test I have is if my players would call BS on an NPC doing that to them.
Drowning a PC a turn using a cantrip? That’s BS and every player knows it.
Just eat them.
There is no trick that will make you think an apple is actually pie or make kale taste just like potato chips.
Try new stuff. Go to the Asian grocery store and buy random fruits and veggies you haven’t seen before and try them. Worst case you hate them, but you seem to be there already, best case you love them.
When people try to drown someone with create water they aren’t talking about creating water then drowning the person the old fashioned way, it’s “I cast create water in the lungs of that guy!”
Other popular “ideas” include - -Casting light on someone’s eyes so they go blind -Trying to target eardrums with shatter -Conflating charm person with dominate person -Attacking with mage hand -prestidigitation solves every problem and has no limits
It’s not that there is an arbitrary “number too low” problem, it’s that these spells explicitly state what they can do. Players sometimes feel “creativity” means they perform actions the spell doesn’t allow, and moreover are actually achieved by much more powerful spells.
I think the later DQs are enjoyable, but they feel stagnant.
It’s my problem with many games. Rarely does something new come along. This is likely a function of age alongside growing up when video games were new and completely different ideas and genres were formed. There is still innovation, but I feel JRPGs haven’t had anything new in a long time.
I don’t remember dragon warrior 2 being that bad. Maybe it’s a ROM issue, maybe young me was more comfortable with a constant grind.
3 is special. It shows it’s age, but it’s very very good.
4 is a little more uneven, but I think it’s the first RPG to change your perspective/main character across the story. Also it has the best story of any JRPG I have ever played.
The first four dragon warriors/quests were surprisingly ambitious.
DW is one of the first console RPGs.
DW2 is in many ways the template for a generation of RPGs, with progressively gathering party members and opening up the map via gaining new travel modes.
DW3 is still amazing. The party creation and job system is done better than most other attempts at it. And returning the old world was so cool.
DW4 had a true multi-perspective narrative with a detailed story. Unlike anything else that had come out before.
Later DW/DQs stopped innovating as much and stagnated, much as the entire JRPG genre feels stagnant.
That was aggressively awful.
I get what you are saying, and I don’t mean to trivialize ADHD or anyone’s experience. I just feel that many opinions and experiences I’ve seen here are common occurrences to me and most people I know. It’s impossible to judge how frequent or distressing each of them are to anyone who is suffering due to them. In my experience nearly everything posted here is a not a “that happens once in a while” but a “yes that is a thing humans do.”
I think since everyone who has ADHD only knows what it is like to have ADHD many silly things everybody experiences are seen as a result of ADHD. Like giving up on a comment while posting it.
Once again, I have no way of judging how impactful, frequent and distressing any behavior is for another person, nor do I think there is benefit in doing so. I just believe that much of content I’ve seen here is not unique to ADHD people.
Nearly every post I’ve seen is not only applicable to me, but my wife, friends and family.
So either these aren’t things unique to the ADHD experience or everyone I know has ADHD.
I may have missed some steps but I recall reddit removing and replacing mods of many subs.
It doesn’t matter, because the damage is done. Small communities aren’t what they used to be and the big subreddits are even lower quality.
Sure, but there is a world of difference between 1700 and today, and an even bigger difference between today and space faring civilizations.
I think the idea that changelings had universally negative experiences is crazy.
You do know that Excel is used in every job right?
I think strawberry pop tarts have less frosting than all other flavors.
It’s petty and small, but every time I have a strawberry pop tart the frosting is so thin that the holes on the top are clear through the frosting. No other flavor has this problem. I don’t think it matters, but it feels like a conspiracy.
There are several jobs that are frequently mentioned in discussions like this that are actually thanked all of them time.
Nurses, teachers, fire, EMTs and police are always mentioned. They are hard jobs and mostly under paid. However they are constantly thanked, businesses give discounts and commercials and politicians thank them endlessly.
Grocery store workers, butchers, plumbers, electricians, custodians, truck drivers and most “menial jobs” are completely thankless. Think of the last time you saw a 10% off for nurses and if you’ve ever seen 10% off for overnight stockers.
I’m not sure I understand, the whole point is to talk to people very far away.
I’m sincerely confused as to why you would want more than one keyboard. To me it sounds like owning more than one printer, but even less convenient. Can you explain it to me?
Because it’s what they will buy, it’s what I’ll buy. And it suits their argument. Calling people out for not reading the article when they are quoting a price from the article is silly though.
That being said, I don’t really buy the comparison between the optiflex and the pi. It’s like saying you can buy a perfectly good Geo metro as opposed to building a kit bike.
