Idk if this counts as projection. Crime was up (although, if you compare violent crime rates during their pandemic peak to the 1980s, it’s laughable… although “rates” only tell half the story, since we do have a large population) but not its falling. People don’t seem to realize that it’s falling because politicians, particularly Republicans, love to embrace crime as a talking point.

That’s where I was getting at with the projection. They’re breaking laws left and right, and pointing out crime is out of control.
