Joe Biden has called on Congress to pass the George Floyd Justice in Policing Act, moments after shocking police video was released showing an Illinois officer fatally shooting Sonya Massey after she called police fearing a home intruder.

In his first public statement since dropping his bid for re-election, Biden said the shooting of Massey, a 36-year-old Black woman, by white Sangamon county sheriff’s deputy Sean Grayson, in her home in Springfield, after a dispute over a pot of boiling water, “reminds us that all too often Black Americans face fears for their safety in ways many of the rest of us do not”.

Biden, who is recovering from Covid at his home in Delaware, said Massey, “a beloved mother, friend, daughter and young Black woman … should be alive today”.

    Jfc… Some big presumptions there.

It seems obvious to me that if you threaten to throw boiling water over a cop, and they pull their gun and state they will fence themselves if you try…

Well, you put yourself entirely into her position.

It’s either suicide by cop or she was truly dangerous enough to harm innocent people… Yaknow… Because of the whole teaching for boiling water with anger on her face in an attempt to throw it on innocent people.

        Did… Somebody claim they were?

I’d the best argument you have … pretending somebody said something that you CAN argue against?

The question isn’t is a gun equally capable of damage as boiling water… the question was nice and simple… did you grab pot of boiling water after threatening to do damage with it to innocent people?

Did you do it specifically after law enforcement pulled their weapons and told you that if you do what you claim they will shoot you…For entirely obvious reasons…

Next you will tell me if it was a white man behaving in the exact same fashion then cop would have taken the water?

You don’t even deny that. Interesting

I’m white as fuck and I’ve had an officer pull his gun on me for telling him I had to reach into my pocket for my wallet. You have an extremely fucked view of American police for someone who doesn’t live here.

Heres my opinion you keep pretending you didn’t notice. He should have left the house he had no legal reason to be inside of. Checking id is not something he was required to do. He did it to make himself feel big. Last time I had to call the sheriff for domestic violence at my neighbors house they didn’t need my ID. That POS cop killed someone by escalating at every chance he had just to leave her alone.

Please stay in your country and keep your useless opinions about our fucked up police forces to yourself.

No legal reason? Someone called 911 asking the police to come over… then they found the car… With smashed windows… she denied it was hee car… then says it is her car.

It makes complete sense to get her id at that point considering if she has harmed somebody else… (which it very much looks like she was capable of doing based entirely on her behaviour).

Imagine how bad these cops would have been at their job if she harmed someone else int be days after…a Nd they didn’t even ask for id to check her after being called out.

What? Property ownership doesn’t have anything to do with identification. Police don’t have free reign to force people to identity themselves because a person is unsure of who’s car is on their property. Entering the home is a huge issue as well. I guess a cop can force their way into my home for the unregistered car in my backyard and shoot me too.

I don’t need to imagine anything, that’s slippery slope BS.

Make sure to lick the boot while it’s on your throat.

She called 911, didnt she? & there’s zero evidence of them forcing themselves in. No reason to doubt she didnt say it was ok to enter…

& her behaviour is visible unhinged outside her door… for all the cops know, the person they are talkign to may be the reported prowler (with the actual caller locked inside) IT makes sense from me that they just quickly get id.
