This is such a dishonest take. The real take away is is no one really believed there was election fraud.
It’s amazing what people can convince themselves is true if they really want it to be true. Even in the face of all evidence to the contrary.
See virtually every silly conspiracy theory with a following.
But they played to their rage and their hatred, which are really all these people have to bring meaning to their lives, so they latch onto whatever ideas allow them to freely hate and rage, and channel the dark side of the force into doubling down on these utterly made up ideas.
There’s an entire machine telling them they’re right to think what they do. They have an emotional investment in it.
I think they can talk themselves into whatever they want to believe. Seriously, we’re talking about people who willfully ignore all sorts of historic geopolitical events as references for everything from populism to fascism, think their Sky Fairy has in some way ordained this anti-Christ like figure, and ignore every economic, medical, and scientific expert offering objective facts about what does and doesn’t work.
So if they’re being told there is election fraud, it exists, until it doesn’t.
This is my personal take, feel free to read past me.
I’m always reminded of the people who say they have no inner monologue. Not that these people have any difference in congnative capability but more that their experience is so different from my own. I’m sure, and have seen, if you sit a trump supporter down and put their feet to the fire you learn their beliefs are built on a pile of shit. Despite all of that, there really must be something else there that let’s them detach themselves from reality. At heart I know what it is. Deep inside every trump supporter is a scared person who has figured out the world is meaningless and they are grain of sand on an endless beach. That’s too much for them so instinctively they forfeit their automony and accept what ever reality is being broadcasted the loudest externally. So it’s never really that their beliefs are failing them it’s that their beliefs are as temporary as a passing fad. Culture on the other hand is more permanent and they spend zero time reconciling culture with more piffy ideas like “news.” In this way they can have opposing beliefs at the same time.
Ok ok, that’s a lot but then you think, where do all the pseudo intectuals and pundits come from? It’s gamification, which is the same as capitalism but in the gamification of media influence is the capital. This is how you have people saying things they don’t actually believe but remain united in a common goal. Capitalism aligns perfectly because they are the same.
It could be as simple as peer pressure and not wanting to be wrong.
I wouldnt be surprised if we find out decades from now there was actual fraud in the election to get trump elected. But it was swept under the rug.
As far as we can tell there was nothing wonky about the election. But it’s all a house of cards we just believe in anyway. Seems like Republicans just believe whatever way the wind blows.
Fraud or not, he certainly had local (and probably foreign) powers interfering by disseminating false information and promoting narratives that favored him while putting Biden/Harris in a bad light.
Off the top of my head, Elon changing the shitter algorithm to boost Republican opinions comes to mind.
He legally cheated by placing a lot of election officials, gerrymandering, laws on who can vote, etc. He really wasn’t worried about winning for a reason. He had people to cheat for him.
I don’t think that’s true, at least not to the degree that he expected to win outright. I watched his speech on the night of the election and he seemed legitimately shocked that he won. I think those people were put in place for the court cases he was planning for after he lost.
at least not to the degree that he expected to win outright.
Legally cheating and this can both be true.
Oh I’m absolutely certain that there was either attempts at fraud or plans for fraud, at minimum. I don’t believe that it proved necessary in the end or changed the overall outcome, unfortunately. But way way way too many election deniers were getting put into positions where they could obstruct, influence or undermine the vote after the last election in preparation to (heavy-ass quotes) “protect the integrity of the 2024 election”, spear-headed by some of the least integrious people in politics, for there not to have been intentions to win by whatever means necessary. We also can’t forget that those people are still there and will absolutely be ready to act as necessary for the next election too
My faith in the election system is fine. It’s my faith in the electorate that’s dead. This election was the final bullet in any hope I had left for the future of my country. At least I’m middle aged and my inevitable cardiovascular health related death is going to be sooner rather than later. If I was a millennial or younger I’d probably just find a tall bridge or something.
Of course there’s no corruption when WE WIN!
Conservatives have the same understanding of real world mechanics as a child.
That’s not true. Children are inquisitive and willing to learn.
I feel like the extremely low election confidence of independants is also an important part of this story.

lies allowed many things
I’m shocked. What an incredible surprise. It’s almost like their opinion of the legitimacy of the election depends on the winner.
fucking cunts.
…For another year or so. I’m sure their hysteria will be back in time for the 2026 midterms.

What a nonsense person you are. Interesting how your statement doesn’t hold up even against the barest glance of the data in this post lol.

Does the democrat line look like an inversion of the republican line?

It seems like the issue that you are encountering is that reality has a left bias. Its difficult for republicans to be rightfully angry at democrats when democrats are universally the better party. You literally cant apply the same logic to both parties because one of them dont operate on logic.

What is a democrat? “In a hypothetical world” implies the names have simply swapped, in which case yes. Republicrats would do what they do. If its a policy swap, its basically the same thing. Democrats as they are now simply do not have the backbone to try and “rig” the election, because they prefer ethics and morals over actually helping their constituents.
I dont want to make it sound like democrats can do no wrong, their lack of spine is their worst feature. They wont take risks such as actually moving to the left to get things done. Prime ratchet effect. Instead they want to play to moderate voters, aka republican lite. As a result democrats slowly move more to the right and get less good done each new cycle.
Spot on
It’s such batshit logic too. The 2020 presidential election, which happened with Trump as president, saw Biden become president through cheating but the 2024 election, which happened under Biden who apparently cheated previously, was a-okay and saw Trump win? Are Republicans just really bad at election security and Democrats just super lazy at cheating when they get into power?
No, they just don’t give a fuck. The vast majority know it’s lies, they just want their side to rule and elections be damned.
They’re either stupid or mentally ill. You’d have to talk to them to figure out which is which unfortunately.
It’s “Biden used the deep state to cheat in 2020, but when he realised we noticed he was too scared to try again in 2024.
Consistency on the right is found only in their policies of hate.
Imagine that! It’s only cheating if they lose.
Percentage change for each:
Democrats: -15.5%
Republicans: +166.7%
