Summary
Consumer confidence has declined since Donald Trump’s return to office, with the University of Michigan reporting a drop in sentiment and rising inflation concerns.
Many Trump voters are frustrated by market turbulence and sweeping executive orders. Voter Paul Bisson fears economic instability, saying, “That’s not what we signed up for.”
Geneticist Nicholas Schuch plans to move savings to Swiss Francs, expecting ongoing chaos.
Polls indicate growing anxiety, with some supporters questioning Trump’s policies and their long-term economic impact.
Bullshit. I live in a red state. They’re not turning on him at all. You can always find a couple of people to express any view that you want to amplify and write an article pretending they’re representative of their entire group.
Exactly, go to any conservative space and they’re just happy that the “libs are getting owned.”
I hope you get what you vote for.
Please, no. Don’t wish that on the rest of us.
I hope you get what you voted for.
Thanks, but I’m from Texas. I never get what I voted for. I either get the same ol’ shit or new shit that carries the ol’ shit’s water.
Yeah, same. I left 13 years ago for California. And despite the fact that I’m living in a shelter, I’d rather be here than back in my home state.
What is some? I mean if 1% of his supporters are having second thoughts is that enough to care about. I mean we need REAL numbers not just a few people who suddenly woke up and made the news.
No. This is exactly what they signed up for. WTAF did they think was going to happen?
That’s a good comment
Lol, I did enjoy that very much
Yeah, you lived through a whole term of this shit already. Not sure how you can be surprised now.
They thought the leopard would eat other people’s faces and not theirs. Remember that one lady from his first term? “He’s not hurting the right people.” That quote tells you everything you need to know about his voters.
They hoped for cheap eggs and open racism.
They are 50% there.
They expected to never face the consequences of their shitty shitty actions.
Dumbasses voted for a clown and didn’t expect the inevitable circus.
Womp womp.
I know it’s tempting to dunk on these people, but if you know anyone like this, tell them to call their Senator and voice their displeasure. They probably won’t listen, and they deserve their, “leopards ate my face,” moment, but trying to mobilize them would be far more productive than saying, “told you so.”
Very good point. I plan on giving the people I know IRL an off-ramp and I will try not to show that I’m judging them. Breaking with a cult is very difficult. Admitting they were wrong about nearly everything is world-shattering.
It’s even harder if they think people will just be hostile and tell them how wrong they were, etc. As much as people want to give them no safe harbor, and make them grovel and prostrate themselves before normal Americans and constantly remind them about how much they have hurt others…that’s not how the human psyche works. Almost no one is going to return to normalcy for that kind of treatment…
Exactly. Also, be prepared to do it in stages. I’m sure a lot of people probably aren’t ready to admit that voting for Trump was a mistake, but they might be willing to admit that Trump is making mistakes by starting a trade war or giving Musk so much power. Take what common ground you find and try to build on it.
Unless they are done being class traitors, I hope they starve.
Bullshit. Trump supporters have no idea what “market turbulence” means and are cheering the executive orders. This is just manipulative feel-good bullshit.
This, I keep hearing about how “Thanks to Trump common sense is being restored!”
And when I ask what they mean by “Common Sense”, they tell me the most transphobic shit I’ve ever heard in my life and give me a lecture about how it’s “time for me to stop playing dress up”
And I’m like “Dress up? I’m a fucking tomboy who happens to be a transgirl, what exactly am I dressing up as?”
I know what they mean, but pretending I don’t makes them angrier, and at this point I hope they have strokes.
“this isn’t what we signed up for”
literally everyone has been trying to tell you it is
They signed up to make everyone else suffer and now they’re shocked and dismayed that they’re probably going to suffer too. I feel for everyone that has to share a country with people that would throw them to the wolves first chance they get while demanding unearned respect for themselves. But if I were religious, I’d tell these people to rot in hell.
Seriously, if sanity ever returns to the world, I hope that the lesson we walk away with is that right wingers, conservatives and religious fundies should never be allowed anywhere near positions of power again. Because when they have it, their whole aim is to uplift themselves and only themselves while fucking over everyone else in society.
The perma stun proceeds.
Throwback to his first term when one of his supporters said “He’s hurting the wrong people!”
I wonder if anyone has done a “where are they now?” on that guy and tracked him down and found out how he’s voted since.
I believe it was a woman who said it. Either way, their motivation for supporting Trump seems to be to cause harm to people they believe deserve it, and the motivation hasn’t changed.
How many more people do you think will accept this… harm… if the eggs were down?
A depressing amount.
Narrator: “it was exactly the fuck what they had voted for”.
- read by Morgan Freeman
Ron Howard, actually.
The meme is a reference to Arrested Development where Ron Howard is the narrator.
But now, you can read this… in Morgan, Freemans, voice.
You tricked us, that’s Christopher Walken!
no, assholes…this is EXACTLY what you signed up for. revel in it.
you didn’t just accept it
you fucking demanded it.
now live with it.
Strange, because it’s EXACTLY what they signed up for.
My Trumper dad told me that he has never seen his industry this slow before (starting in January). He has worked in this industry for over 40 years. He then goes on to say that he can’t wait for Trump to fix the mess that we are in.
WTF? He is the reason your industry is so slow. How can he not see that it started being slow once Trump came into power???
