It may seem obvious that governments should think through their policies before implementing them; if they don’t, they risk encountering the dreaded law of unintended consequences. That’s exactly what’s happening in the United States’ defense-industrial policy.
Paywall
US military-industrial-complex shrinking? Nothing makes me more confident that we are really facing a recession…
Finally he kills something that deserves it
Make US weak again and never ever let them become strong again. Let’s go rest of the world. Let those war factories roar back to life and become less reliant on US military industry. And everyone should have nukes.
I’m not sure if that was sarcasm, because in the world where countries such as Russia and the USA have nukes everybody should have them too. I’m Ukrainian and understood this on my own practice.
Ukraine security and Europe and Canada and Mexico and Asia hinges on a weakened US and Russia. I am very serious about wanting all countries to have nukes.
And not just one but enough to scare even the biggest country away from attacking even the smallest country.
Have had enough of this benevolent dictator business when it comes to hoping the world power isn’t too abusive.
Unless you’re Russian or Chinese, you’re not going to like the alternative.
There’s a lot wrong with the USA’s military-industrial complex and with its global hegemony but this alternative is going to lead to a lot more wars worldwide.
The US military industrial complex is the most evil force in the world
You wish he was but he isn’t.
But he is. It’s defense stocks are dropping and the GOP budget proposes to slash military spending by over 30% I’m the next 5 years.
They’re quite literally making the US weaker while helping Russia assert itself in Europe
USA already spend 1000% times what other countries do a 30% cut is making USA weaker by an inch
It always end up higher than before
We do not spend “1000%” more than other countries, and what we do spend is heavily wasted as well.
A 30% reduction is the largest cut for the military in decades. It will absolutely have an impact, as will losing the trust of our allies. No one will let us station troops in their country when we show the world that we’re a bunch of backstabbers.
No one will let us station troops in their country when we show the world that we’re a bunch of backstabbers.
Let’s hope so, usa has thousand of thousand of military infrastructures around the world
