  • But they USA help Ukraine, a democracy that has been absolutely non hostile, gave up their nukes on a promise, and was attacked by Russia that is clearly an enemy to USA, the west and democracy.

But they can help Israel against a country that was willing to negotiate?!

USA is a despicable country, that has abandoned all values and their peaceful allies. To support a regime that has been extremely hostile towards their neighbors for more than half a century, and is committing genocide in Gaza. That’s the one USA chooses to help!

  • Starmer had issued his strongest rebuke yet of Trump’s action in Iran, saying the UK did not believe in “regime change from the skies”

Fuck yes. I had a bad feeling when USA was allowed to use UK bases in the region for “defense”.
But it turns out he was actually serious. Hurray for that, let USA fix their own mess for once.

We all remember the mistakes of Iraq, and we have learned those lessons. Any UK actions must always have a lawful basis,

Absolutely fucking YES! to this too. We don’t need to repeat of the illegal invasion of Iraq based on false US intelligence.
Apart from that Trump didn’t even try to make a case for plausible deniability.

I’m not from UK, when I say we, I mean Europe and NATO. The British can be proud of their PM today. 👍 😀

  • Yes some are resisting, but not enough and the resistance is 100% ineffective.
It hasn’t stopped Trump doing anything, including ICE shooting people in the face, destroying the economy, undermining NATO, helping Russia against Ukraine.
Trump has 100% control of the executive branch, the most dangerous and powerful part of US government. And he does as he wishes, and nobody is stopping him.
Even worse 40% of the population still support him! It’s not just Trump that is the problem, it’s the majority of the American population.

  • I want USA to go back to the optimism and softer values like democracy and human rights 70’s style.
I know everything was not perfect, but back then we admired USA for their industry and innovation, and the moon landing was an inspiration to all, and the fact that NASA acknowledged it as an achievement of humanity.
Back then it looked like USA was a country that strived to progress, but then Reagan happened, and everything began to reverse, and when Bush was elected twice, it was evidence the American spirit that we loved was gone completely. Even Obama wanted to continue illegal intelligence, and military drone attacks into Pakistan.

Obama may have seemed progressive, but in reality he wasn’t really, he was just not as big a problem as the Republicans.

Jimmy Carter was the last good president of USA. After that it’s just been varying degrees of bad.

  • I agree Russia is out of resources, and can’t afford to “waste” any.
Still if Iran was still an important supplier as you claimed earlier, taking down a few Israeli missiles would go a long way to make Trump reconsider, and possibly to create more opposition in USA against the war.
I maintain that Putin actually wants this to help the struggling Russian economy. And if Putin didn’t want it, he could have stopped Trump with a phone call.
