Speedrunning a permaban on my 15 year old account. How many days do you think it will take?
If you wanna do it fast, just speak ill of fascists. Worked for me.
Nazi website
I said 53 days closer to his obituary. I’m not sure how that’s anything but an actual truth? But whatever. Fuck those knee benders.
Took less than 1 for me, but it was only a 10 year old account
hey so i started looking at a new place because I’m tired of reddit and the people on it… My upvotes began just disappearing. I hate to be that person, but I think I was shadowbanned. I didn’t even know that was a real thing until reddit. When the little reddit guy’s back is turned on your icon you’re in some kind of restricted mode. Anyway, i noticed my upvotes weren’t showing and someone else kinda fiddled with it with me to see what was going on. I don’t know if this is related to luigi but it’s some weird nonsense.
You sir or ma’am were shadowbanned. They want your views, not your voice. Basically you are ad revenue to them, if they ban you they lose that sweet juicy $.02 from their advertiser. They want two cents from their advertiser, just not from you.
exactly. i always thought shadowbanning was a thing people just said when mad until i noticed that on reddit.
By this logic is the platform its self not breaking the rules by allowing a forum for the conversation to take place?
Getting band for something like this is like the equivalent of seeing a graffiti artist painting something on a public wall, smiling or nodding in approval, and getting a ticket handed to you around the corner for “participating”.
If they make the rules they can’t break them. Just like how our felon president walks completely free.
Can you or somebody else with a Reddit account post a photo of Woody Guthrie to r/pics and/or some major history subreddit and title it “Woody Guthrie and his iconic guitar” but use the Reddit alien logo as a censor over the “This machine kills fascists” written on his guitar?
no fucking way lmao
Seems like half of Lemmy is here in the last 2 weeks for the same reason I am.
it was ongoing since DEC, they just ramping up the ban filters each month. Luigi keep reappearing on reddit in JAN so they quickly quashed it, and then again on feb. next thing you know they will start banning based on “referral or implying violence”(ive been banned for that in the past")
“Your account has been PERMABANNED. While you didn’t do anything wrong, we ban a small random percentage of users each month to keep you in line. You may still interact with our advertiser content, but posts and comments are disabled. There is no chance of appeal.” (You notice the website looks absolutely no different from before).
Not.
I believe it. I got warned and had my comment deleted for “glorifying violence”
I was supporting Canadian boycotts of American goods.
Let that sink in - I was reprimanded for glorifying violence because I supported economic protests.
What is an economic protest if not literally the primary, go-to alternative to violent protest?
Oligarchs & Israel are in charge now. Welcome to your new reality.
and PUTIN, i remember at the begining of feb they started using the russian bought grifter “end wokeness” to quikcly astroturf luigi, when we hadnt heard from the russians like for 2 months.
Upvoting with intent
I’m guiltier than Luigi.
Oh that’s a good one!
#FreeLuigi
If they can pardon the January 6th hostages…
Remember, Jury Nullification!
Please read the rules again so that you don’t break them.
I tattooed their rules to my chest and I still got warned.
I deleted my 11 year old Reddit account a couple days ago after being banned for quoting The Sopranos. On r/movies. As a response to another Sopranos quote.
For most of those 11 years I had no problems then just in the last month I was banned sitewide twice (for threatening behavior, I was venting about fascists and used violent rhetoric I guess, mind you this was on a repost of that famous video of a Nazi getting punched), given this same warning you got about upvoting things they didn’t like, permabanned from r/movies (again for the same quote), I just reached my limit. Reddit was great for me for a long time but I am better off without it. I was on it too much anyways!
Talk about the thought police! I saw it coming for awhile, but past me from a decade ago is shocked that Reddit has come to this.
Yooooo I scrubbed my profile when I left but this would be a great way to finally get it dealt with for good.
Oh they’re definitely still keeping your data either way
I know that. I used the platform for free, of course they’re going to keep the information. What I’m trying to do is make any thread I ever posted on or posted a little more unusable and littered with remnants of some info that was there but now isn’t. I know there have been instances in the past where they resurrect a deleted post or comment because it was relevant, but I don’t think anything I ever did got nearly enough traction to warrant that. So I’ll do whatever I can, it’s better than not doing anything.
so would this work if I made a comment then edited it?
I’m thinking it would be fucking hilarious to go on conservative and get them to upvote it only to edit it to say something like, “Luigi is a hero!”, then they just start banning all the bots and conservatives.
