Israel’s ambassador to Austria, David Roet, has suggested executing Palestinian minors involved in armed conflict, a secretly recorded video has revealed.

During a closed-door meeting with the local Jewish community in Innsbruck on Thursday, Roet said that “there should be a death sentence” for teenagers for “holding a gun” or a “grenade”. He provided no evidence of children carrying weapons in Gaza.

The video was recorded two days after Israel broke the Gaza ceasefire on 18 March, by which time more than 500 Palestinians were killed, of which almost 200 were children.

Roet dismissed concerns over civilian casualties in Gaza, stating: “If you believe that there are no uninvolved [people] in Gaza… you’re believing that Israel is targeting babies intentionally, which is not correct.”

Hmmmm, I swear I’ve heard this somewhere before…

Oh yeah it was the Bush administration defining “Enemy Combatant” as any “adult male.” As in “they looked adult enough to me,” which when you contrast with evidence that young black men are viewed as older and less innocent to white Americans leaves one going “Ah, so any boy aged 14 and up, really.” Because young men from Afghanistan and Iraq are surely brown enough to elicit the same feelings in the invading (mostly white) forces.

Worse, as evidenced in Collateral Murder, most of these decisions were being made from up-above and far-away either from attack planes and helicopters or drones. This meant if you were a young man who “looked” the right age from a blurry camera a half mile away and you were carrying something that “looked like” a weapon, they could rain hellfire down upon you with no consequences.

The irony is that the exact same people defending the Bush massaceres in Iraq are using the exact same arguments to defend the genocide in Gaza. “Most moral army, airstrike clearance” etc etc.

Notably edgelord content creators such ss Asmongold and Destiny.

That’s not irony, irony is something unexpected - those two behaviors are exactly consistent and congruent with one-another.

I left out a little context. The irony is: All those people supporting the Iraq invasion said they regretted it a decade later, and admitted they were wrong.
