    The implication that having a cycle count on your phone is going to drive upgrades is bizarre.

    “Hey, what made you decide to get the new iPhone?”

    “It has battery cycle counts!”

    I can see it already.

      Conversely, I could see people upgrading because their battery cycle count is high , making them feel like the performance is degrading.

      May it be like miles in used cars? You’d see a big number and you’d be more likely to buy new instead. Or replace a battery if it even comes to that.
