    At this point, if someone I recently met went to pick me up in a Tesla, I’d decline and just drive myself there. Your car does not care about its own life. How on earth does it have the capacity to care about yours?

      Also lithium fires, and door handles that prevent occupants from escaping in a fire source (Tesla apologists really expect panicking people who are burning to find a hidden manual door latch when the doors should always be manual in the first place)

        Eh… I like the way Ford (I think? I could be misremembering) is doing it. Pull on the handle a little bit to do electronic. Yank it all the way to override and do it manually. One handle… And in the case of “emergency” your instinct is literally what is expected… Yank the shit out of the handle… door will open.
