My dog did the same, so I just taught him to bring me my socks in the morning. Either yesterdays socks lying on the floor or I’ll toss a new pair on the floor for him. When he gets excited for walks he’ll bring me socks. When I come home he brings me socks. When I take my socks off because it’s hot, he’ll bring them back… but at least he doesn’t chew them anymore. And he loves the little chore.

What breed? I wonder if they’re similar. Mine’s a Lapphund so at the core they’re a herding/work dog but have a crazy emotional intelligence. I get more socks delivered to me if I appear sad or tired.

A spanish waterdog, with a mix of herding/hunting/working instincts. I’m pretty sure the only emotions that influence his behavior are his own. So I get more socks when he is either anxious or excited.

Yo, my cat brings me socks every night; and one time dryer lint when she couldn’t get to any socks.

Sometimes I’ll hear her coming uptstairs, kind of crying/mewling and that’s when I know she has a sock for me.
