Neighboring countries such as Chad, Egypt, and Uganda also benefit as transit points, facilitating the movement and re-export of Sudanese gold. Armed groups within Sudan, particularly the Rapid Support Forces , control many of the gold mines and smuggling routes, using the profits to fund their military activities
