Hi all!

Edit: It works. There were just some bug in the Matrix or I was just… not pressing those buttons the right way, I don’t know.

So, I knew about the “cheat code” for Super Mario Bros. to continue from the world where you died last time. (Hold A on the title screen and START)

The thing is, it doesn’t seem to work playing the game through Nintendo Switch Online Nintendo Entertainment System.

If I lose all my extra lifes and die, back on the title screen holding A and pressing start still drops me back to 1-1.

What am I missing? Is it really not working in this version of the game, or I’m the one who can’t press 2 buttons?

I’m playing it on the Switch 2 and using an 8bitdo wireless Pro controller (as a wired Pro controller) if it matters…

    Well, you can just load the last save if lives drop below 3 or something, but yeah, feels like a bit of cheating. Though, at my age I am just happy to finish the game. Don’t have the skills to properly complete these old-school games now.
