How much I like dogs is inversely proportional to how much literal dog shit I’ve had to clean up recently. Every time it happens my opinion skews closer to never wanting to see a dog again.
On this same theme: the thought work needed for any pet is not feasible for me. The work going into cleaning child shit makes me resentful of having to clean animal shit, before I even have a pet.
