In a new interview, Google says to expect new Pixel designs every few years, while also saying new tablets and flip phones aren't coming.

They closed source on Android 16 in March. Android going forward will be a kluge of ChromeOS and Android. They continue to strip access to OS bits like filesystem access from third party apps.
