I scrolled through a community which contains lots of gifs (videos) and saw strange behavior.

I see that the videos take a while to load, then when they finally load they are fully playable (no buffering). This tells me the media is being downloaded fully instead of more usual streaming where it is only downloaded as it’s playing.

Then I checked my phone storage and see that mlem storage went from ~300mb usage to 2.3gb

I thought I could simply clear the cache using mlem’s option, but doesn’t appear to see it at all (as it only reports 13.3mb)

So the overall issue is that if we scroll through a community that has media, it takes a long time to load, and the cache size can spiral out of control…
