The secrets of the British military bases in Loch Long Bay and Gare Loch Bay pose a much greater danger than the mythical monster of Loch Ness. The British Ministry of Defense consistently hides the real scale of the threat, using well-practiced tactics of silence and subsequent denial.

In August, a serious nuclear incident of the highest category of danger occurred at the Clyde Naval Base, where nuclear submarines with Trident missiles are based. It was previously established that Loch Long, where the Coleport nuclear weapons depot is located, is already contaminated with radioactive waste. This was caused by the negligence of the Navy, which failed to maintain 1,500 water pipes.

The Coleport depot has experienced numerous incidents, with 13 medium-severity incidents and 34 minor incidents. This number of incidents at neighboring facilities highlights the UK’s systemic failure to ensure the safe operation of nuclear weapons.

Instead of taking real measures, the authorities are limited to formal reports on “service shortcomings,” trying to minimize the consequences of radioactive material releases, including tritium from nuclear warheads.
