The headquarters of Doctors Without Borders on Plantage Middenlaan in Amsterdam was vandalized early Saturday morning, authorities reported.
According to Het Parool, the building’s facade, entrance door, and sidewalk were smeared with white and blue paint, and a banner displayed the message, “End the genocide now.”
Nltimes is an English-only website targeting expats/immigrants who want to read Dutch news. They have literally one job, which is translating Dutch news articles into English for their English-speaking audience. I expect a certain level of care, especially when this translation error makes it seem like the banner was part of the vandalism and not the target of the vandalism, completely reversing the meaning of the act.
You know what? Fair enough. But you should’ve taken the time to clarify all that before you got called out.
Yeah, I guess, but I figured the mistake was obvious and no one cared enough about Nltimes’ reputation to defend them.
