As I have posted my in first post, here, >>>>>The one-problem with ‘Star Trek’ it is supposed to be exploring space & not interfering with other planets’ beings’ development, but it still has a lot of violence-wars.<<<<<. Let alone the rest of Space SciFi entertainment,
My idea solves that by instead of creating my Better Space, SciFi, Exploration Entertainment on military atmosphere & the experiences in any war(s)- I have no experience in,…
…but to base it upon, what have no experience with, the true scientists of all fields-explorers-peace makers-maintainers (& people needed for them to live, like those of their family that agree to go with them, but none of them have spouces-children of any kind-educators-doctors <including those for mental health>), exploring the unknown-not known enough places of the outer space, with only truly defense weapons. Think of the diplomates & UN
That is awesome, do start working on it!
Better is subjective. What you describe could well be one of the factions in the Star Trek universe. You are telling a story from a slightly different perspective – an even more nonviolent one.
A good question to answer may be: What will make your story engaging to us all, in an age where so many stories have been told in so many ways?
You’ve got the vaguest beginning of an outline of a setting. If you want it to be great entertainment, you’ve got to give it a story and characters. You’ve got to figure out what it is really about, what makes it thought provoking. It takes a lot of work to create all of that. You can’t just hand off this initial description to the world and act like other people are going to pick it up for you. Don’t tell me it’s better than Star Trek, show me.
You have some good replies here, but I’ll add one piece. You’ve imagined a world where your primary characters are Good. No killing, just defensive armaments, all about diplomacy and exploration.
Consider, though, that interesting stories have conflict. Conflict needs to have consequences to the characters you’re following, or it’s not very interesting.
You’re describing a world that would probably be better to live in than that of Star Trek. But I’m not sure it would result in better stories.
