Democrats scored a stunning upset on Saturday in a special election runoff for Texas Senate, according to a projection from Decision Desk HQ, giving the party a major boost ahead of the November midterms.

The district favored President Trump — who endorsed Wambsganss earlier on Saturday — by 17 points in 2024. The race went to a runoff after none of the candidates were able to clinch a majority in the November election.

These guys are doing absolutely everything they can to ensure it’s not free and fair.

        It’s a question of how un-free and how un-fair.

Even if they fail to rig the midterms, the Epstein class have already pre-positioned milktoast corrupt neoliberals who will not imprison/execute the tens of thousands of nazis necessary to prevent the total collapse of the United States.

If most nazis do not face real justice, they’ll just continue to rot the country from the inside until the propaganda erodes public sanity enough for the fascist coup to succeed in 5-10 years.

I’m talking a scorched earth, extrajudicial response, if necessary; every ICE agent currently employed, everyone in the military who committed war crimes bombing Venezuelan boats and engaging in piracy, hundreds of CEO’s and oligarchs who have bribed and corrupted politicians in broad daylight for all to see… Basically every Republican in the judiciary and legislative.

I have no faith whatsoever that the Democrats have the virtue, honor, or conviction to do what’s necessary to eliminate fascism with the extreme prejudice it requires.

The sad truth is that not prosecuting/imprisoning/executing tens of thousands of Nazis is what got the USA into this very evident and stunning collapse. Compromise with evil begets evil.

I agree that the Dems don’t have what it would take.

They’re your best chance at a not-Trump administration, but they’re not going to wind back the encroachment of fascism.

I’d say the fascist coup is well, underway. Also, a meaningful opposition response (let alone scorched earth) requires an organized opposition. We’re pretty far from that existing, and you’re right, it absolutely won’t come from within the ranks of Democrats.

The formation of an opposition will be dramatically more challenging too because of the pervasiveness of the surveillance-capitalism apparatus that’s fueling ICE’s campaign. A key step toward a meaningful resistance would be punishing the companies that comprise the surveilance capitalism regime, but most of the people who would like this regime to go away don’t have the will to stop using TikTok, Feacebook, X, and Insta.

With this outlook Trump will (have to) do everything in his power that they won’t be.

The US has never had a free and fair election. The attempt to introduce universal suffrage for citizens in 1965 was never fully implemented. I guess what you’re trying to say is: “…if democratic backsliding is contained.”
