Tell me if this sounds familiar.

    • Demand a leftist candidate.

    • A centralist candidate wins the nomination.

    • Vote for lesser of two evils.

    • Lose election because they were unpopular

    • Blame leftists

Maybe Democrats could try doing better.

It’s like you’re trying to do the breast stroke during a hurdles match. The system is broken and only two parties are viable. Who you vote for president won’t change that, but could have had one genocide instead of two plus all the internal strife. Fix the two-party problem, then demand better of your presidential candidates. The alternative has only worked about 3 times in the history of the United States.

This is probably something that would have to be fixed at the state level before going federal. Either way, until FPTP is replaced, pretending that isn’t the system in place isn’t going to change it.

It’s time for other states to look at it, for groups in those states to use Alaska and Maine as working examples of the benefits, and for Alaska and Maine to start working on an Amendment to change how the president is elected.

But none of that changes the fact that how or if you vote for president will have any bearing on the voting system or cause it to change.

We could have had Clinton and Harris and we’d be in a way better place right now but I keep hearing bitching about the democratic nominees from people with no intention of organizing a party or candidate let alone even vote.

We wouldn’t be headed to a better existence with Harris. She was barely to the left of trump, her entire campaign ran like a first-term Trump Republican.

no intention of organizing a party or candidate

What do you want me to do? Vote third party in the Presidential election? Won’t I be wasting my vote?

        let alone even vote.

Run a popular platform then. Clinton and Harris were status quo candidates. Clinton was a continuation of Obama. Harris was a continuation of Biden. They lost because they didn’t run a good campaign. They lost because they didn’t change tactics to address Trump.

Biden was one of the best presidents since Jimmy Carter though I’d love to have his policies continued.

Biden deliberately appointed a Republican AG who let Trump walk, and thereby brought about the destruction of the country. He’s going to be remembered on par with James Buchanon, at best.

The American voters decided that Trump should be president again by a landslide and you think they’d be able to get a jury to find him guilty?

Honestly, Biden did a very good job picking up the pieces after Trump. But ultimately he was returning to a status quo that didn’t (couldn’t?) address the problems with late stage capitalism. I don’t blame Biden, I blame that lack of choice in our Democracy.

When your entire platform is we are not trump, then proceeding to be exactly like him, is a turn off to people.

The people don’t want a phony Democrat. If it’s a choice between a genuine Republican, and a Republican in Democratic clothing, the people will choose the genuine article, every time; that is, they will take a Republican before they will a phony Democrat,

Even if Trump was convicted and imprisoned he still would have been able to run for president and get out of jail for his term.

America watched what he did and didn’t care.

There were things he did which could have disqualified him from office, which also weren’t investigated, and still doesn’t absolve slow walking everything.

America watched what he did and didn’t care.

No shit considering the education level of the country, number that flat out don’t know what he did because of the propaganda networks in the country, and the dems campaign strategy of ignore everything bad, that’s not happening
