So where is America getting a lot of their foreign special metals? Last I checked a lot of particular components needed to build modern vehicles literally don’t exist in America.
If you wanted to build just a car from 1968, absolutely you could. But the technology in cars now-a-days comes from materials that literally do not exist in the continental USA. You need to import them. And Canada has a lot of it. So even the suggestion that you don’t need Canada is not only ignorant as hell but completely stupid.
The US actually has about every metal or mineral you could want somewhere, as rissia and china both do, canada to a lesser extent. The us used to lead in rare earth stuff too. Not sure about cobalt and coltan but it likely does exist in the us.
Not that we should process all of them here neccessarily. Just that we have deposits of basically everything.
I do not think we should have tarrifs on canada or europe. But our cars could be made in the us, and used to be before nafta. Made in measures parts though, raw materials are not included in those.
Canada is not the problem in free trade. Their only advantage is not unfair, they do not gouge on healthcare forcing companies to pay more for less to pay an army of parasites offering no value to health care.

It would not be hard to rebuild that technology with the wealth or nation has. It is a choice, and was intentionally made that way, and pretending otherwise is to take at face value the narrative the rich weave
Who said anything about the Raw materials? That is not how made in labels work and you know it. You are throwing around a little gratuitous insults despite you being the one that was despite you being the one that was wrong.
But we could do all the raw materials in the United States as a matter of fact. Ford had a completely vertical operation and produced almost everything in the United States. But I do not know why I’m talking to somebody that called me stupid for challenging his falsehood.
The fact you even think that I called you stupid, rather than the President of the United States stupid, says all I need to know about you. Have a great day.
