What I’ve learned is that people are really really not good at (a) remembering the experience of suffering accurately (rose-tintned retrospection is a real psychological handicap for our species), (b) logically weighing the pros and cons of possible catastrophe, and © spotting obvious con men and liars.
I agree…but I knew Trump would win in 2025 because I’ve been actively lowering my expectations for the US voting public.
