President Donald Trump’s racist social media post featuring former President Barack Obama and his wife, Michelle Obama, as primates in a jungle was deleted after a backlash from both Republicans and Democrats who criticized the video as offensive.

The Republican president’s Thursday night post was deleted Friday and blamed on a staffer after widespread backlash, from civil rights leaders to veteran Republican senators, for its treatment of the nation’s first Black president and first lady. The deletion, a rare admission of a misstep by the White House, came hours after press secretary Karoline Leavitt dismissed “fake outrage” over the post. After calls for its removal for being racist – including by Republicans – the White House said a staffer had posted the video erroneously and it had been taken down.

it is funny that this is offensive, but gestapo murdering people in the streets is not.

People can be mad about two whole things at once, maybe even more. When two things happen, it doesn’t mean one of those two things suddenly isn’t happening. Pay careful attention, sometimes EVEN MORE than two things happen as well.

you are outraged about something that you made up in your head. my comment wasn’t about what people are mad about.

it was about where republican politicians draw the line and they clearly don’t draw it at people being murdered in the streets. and i am honestly surprised that they actually made him take it down.

Just political caste kayfabe. I think they don’t understand how hated they are at this point, possibly because its February. There are places none of them can go anymore. Those places are expanding in number.

If you clarify that your are referencing conservatives’ perception in particular, this comment will look less shitty.

        I thought this was obvious.

Post says republicans are criticizing the racist post. This commenter said but they’re not criticizing the gestapo murdering people in the streets.
