I got to experience something like this today!

High winds in the area have meant that our power has gone out a few times, only to come back a minute or two later. After one outage, our TV wouldn’t turn on again. My initial thought was that the power strip got zapped from a surge, so I leaned behind the TV stand to check it.

Stitch, one of our cats, decided to help! He jumped on to the subwoofer I was leaning over, and was looking behind the TV with me.

(It turned out the remote somehow forgot the settings for our TV and sound bar. Everything is fine, fortunately.)

My cat is like a champion soccer player the way he shoots it under there. It takes like 1-2 taps sometimes, what a legend.

Behind the couch, behind the TV, under the stairs… If there’s a small, hard-to-get-to space, I guarantee the cat toys will end up there. Especially if they’re ping-pong balls (which mine love to chase and bat around).

I tried to use pool noodles to block off spaces under the couch. The thin ones were too small. The big ones too big. Idk what the solution is.

I ended up using a door snake to block off the TV cabinet, but don’t have a solution for the other spaces either!

I use my phone to video under the couch / bed / bureau, so that I know where to look and how far back it is.
