The Buffalo Bills have agreed to promote offensive coordinator Joe Brady to head coach, sources told ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

Brady is expected to sign a five-year deal, sources told Schefter.

Brady replaces Sean McDermott, who was fired last week after the Bills were eliminated by the Denver Broncos in the AFC Divisional round of the playoffs. McDermott had spent nine seasons as head coach in Buffalo.

Brady, 35, is coming off his second full season as Buffalo’s OC after taking over the role in an interim capacity during the 2023 season after Ken Dorsey was was fired.

He has an interesting history. He worked with Sean Payton and then coached at LSU when Joe Burrow was throwing 6-8 TD passes a game.

And then he went to the Panthers…. he coached Darnold and Mayfield when they shat the bed and rolled around in it in Carolina.

The guy has success when he has top tier Wide Receivers. Not sure if Buffalo has any of those.
