Chinese propaganda is rampant on the fediverse. We need to discuss ways to combat this. One group- memes or something is wholly controlled by Chinese state actors. What do you think?

      Unfortunately I’m not sure how you could handle all propaganda. As long as you have oligarchs and states it will exist.

        We have fact checkers, we have reputable historians, we have videos confirming stuffs, we have human right organization confirming stuffs. Propaganda points from Zionism for example are intentionally not remove . I support removing all clear propaganda points whatever it is from China, Russia, the west ,Iran and Israel

          I do too but some of it is hard to uproot. Someone has to put in the work to unravel it and it’s often very difficult and unpopular work for the first experts to take that on.

            There is less propaganda talking point that you think that can be debunked in 5 minutes. The same propaganda talking repeated points so they become so easy to recognize. You don’t need to know the whole history of Russia and Ukraine to know that Russian invasion is illegal, you don’t need to know too much of the history of China or Taiwan to know that China has no right to take Taiwan, you don’t need too much details to know that Israel is the settler colonial power and that settler colonialism is never justified . Visiting regularly the modlog it is pretty clear to me that mods of big communities do not intent to fight propaganda at all . One can’t expect all propagandist comments and posts to be removed but can expect some to be removed when they are reported
