Donald Trump warned Tuesday of “very bad things” if Republicans lose the US midterm elections, as the US president kicked off a travel blitz under the shadow of unrest in Minneapolis and voter worries about the economy. At a rally in Iowa – one of the first stops for primary campaigns in US presidential elections – Trump said his party must win both the Senate and the House in November despite his own poor approval ratings.

“I’m here because I love Iowa, but I’m here because we’re starting the campaign to win the midterms. Got to win the midterms,” second-term president Trump said in his speech. “If we lose the midterms, you’ll lose so many of the things that we’re talking about, so many of the assets that we’re talking about, so many of the tax cuts that we’re talking about – and it would lead to very bad things.”

In his Iowa speech, the 79-year-old president repeated his claims about a “Golden Age” in the United States and insisted prices were falling for most goods. But he admitted that it may be hard to convince voters in November’s midterms, saying that in past elections “if something happens, the screw turns with the voters” no matter how good the president.

Trump returned to a familiar theme of talking about running for a constitutionally barred third term as president.

“Should we do it a fourth time?” he said, referring to his false claim to have won the 2020 election that he lost to Democrat Joe Biden, along with winning in 2016 and 2024.

Well if Schumer and the Israeli owned democrats are still in office nothing will happen other than a little bit of toothless theatre and they will keep quietly funding fascism and setting up the dominos for the next Israel first Heritage Foundation plant. Hopefully people vote out the AIPAC traitors and then we might actually have a chance to reverse some of this damage

That’s a nice state you have here. It would be a real shame if something were to happen to it.

Agreed, The only upside to it is if they continually attempt to impeach him over and over with his visually declining health, the stress of it just might bring about his untimely demise.

Bad things will happen to him. Finally. He’ll be in so many impeachment hearings, he won’t have time for TS postings and golf anymore.

They won’t though. He’ll probably be dead of old age before any of his cases ever come to trial, let alone a verdict. And in any case, it wouldn’t surprise me one bit if the next US president (whoever that may be) simply pardons Trump to avoid “alienating voters” or to “ensure domestic peace” or some other bullshit reason. Same sort of shit they pulled with Richard Nixon.

Impeachment is part of a political process to remove an elected official from office. There’s no case to go to trial.

I mean, they’ve already done it to him twice, but the Senate has to vote to remove him from office.

It’s not like we’ll be impeaching him every week. Some weeks we’ll have to impeach Noem, Miller, Thomas, Alito, Hegseth, Bondi, Patel, RFK Jr, McMahon, Johnson, Graham, Cruz, etc.

He’s setting up to blame the democrats for all of his own failures. Once they win the midterms, he can say its their fault because they are in power again.

Let’s hope the bad things are from his perspective, things like him and his cronies being held accountable for their crimes and charges like Treason actually mattering.

But knowing him he means very bad things like ordering the military to execute his political rivals and declaring elections invalid.

Trump only comprehends the world from his own perspective. If he got to use the military to execute his political rivals he would call those “very good things”.

Pretty much what one head of state said in Trump’s first term on a visit. I want to say Denmark but think it was in the area at least.

If that’s what you were referencing then oops, wasn’t sure. I thought it was a good burn back then, now it’s obvious that democracy isn’t the goal for a lot of the US.

It’ll have been two years and you haven’t enacted any of those for the people you’re talking about. Why haven’t you done any of those things yet and still just using it as a carrot dangling in front of these stupid people you’re talking to…

And I answered my own question.

He’s got a majority on the House and Senate. If. They can pass anything they want. If it isn’t happening, it’s because they don’t want it.
