You can do space opera type games with 5e, I mean I enjoyed playing in Starfinder (1st edition, haven’t played 2nd) campaigns. I have enjoyed Traveller games too, but those systems really don’t seem to mesh.

I haven’t played Traveller, but isn’t d20 power creep inflation a bit not in line with Traveller’s more gritty/realistic power curve?
