Huh, this guy was my neighbor when I was a kid. I remember being really excited when we learned he was going to be on TV. Really sad to see where he’s ended up.
alot of celebrities either get addicted to alochol, cocaine, or prescription drugs and od form some of them.
Seems like most children who get sucked into the tv/movie industry end up completely insane nightmares later in life, assuming they live long which a lot of them traditionally have not.
They get exposed to Hollywood’s party/drug culture very early, that’s for sure. But I think the home environment is the most critical factor. If you’ve got psycho parents who are trying to live vicariously through you or simply see you as a cash cow, they’re going to fuck you up way more than Hollywood can.
Also, there’s something to be said for the psychological impact of becoming successful, having your “15 minutes of fame,” and then fading into obscurity. That’s got to mess with your self-esteem big time.
