I don’t think he’s ever recognized reality, his mental illness is such that there is no reality, just self interest, and what he can pressure people into pretending to believe. Typical narcissistic but as a billionaire that’s been able to really indulge his dark side and abuse people in ways most narcissists could only dream of.
