    If that’s true, why are they pushing /r/popular? It’s generalized, just excludes the most blocked subreddits.

    The answer is that they don’t like some of the stuff that shows up in /r/all and it makes their advertisers happier not to have some of those places.

    The difference between /r/all and /r/popular is not that much. It’s just a difference that matters to their bottom line, yes.
