brilliant. Reduce the already slim Senate majority in an election year that is building up to be bad for your party. nice.
No way Oklahoma’s governor is going to appoint a Democrat though
I keep getting the vacated seat rules mixed up between the House and Senate.
I think the rules for vacated seats vary by state, but I could be incorrect.
House seats are required to be filled by a special election. Senate seats the state can do either an appointed replacement or a special election. Looks like Kentucky, North Dakota, Rhode Island, and Wisconsin went with the special election option.
He took office in 2023, the Senate terms are 6 years. Whoever the Governor appoints will serve the remainder of that term. They definitely aren’t going to appoint a Democrat.
The election year has absolutely no bearing on this seat moving sides.
It’s Oklahoma. It’s never going to be an issue ever.

My mom is not political, I can’t overstate how not-plugged-in she is.
Yesterday, she sent me this:

Dumb hick replaces dumb broad.
I’ll get the popcorn…Now she can go back to shooting puppies and sucking cock. The only two things she’s useful for.
Not a fan of that casual sexism. We’re better than that.
Agreed. Sucking cock is a desirable trait. Shooting puppies in the face is not.
True, I edited it.
Not fired, she’s getting promoted to Team America Western Hemisphere Police.
