Donald Trump on Thursday said Republican Sen. Markwayne Mullin will replace Kristi Noem as Department of Homeland Security secretary.

Trump made the announcement on social media Thursday afternoon saying he was “pleased to announce that the Highly Respected United States Senator from the Great State of Oklahoma, Markwayne Mullin, will become the United States Secretary of Homeland Security (DHS), effective March 31, 2026.”

The sources said the president was upset with a particular moment during the hearing when Republican Sen. John Kennedy questioned Noem about a taxpayer-funded $220 million ad campaign. Noem repeatedly suggested the president was aware of the campaign and signed off on it.

Yes fired, she was removed from her position and assigned to another. It’s sugar-coated but it’s still fired.

That’s not what fired means. If you still have a job, you haven’t been fired. Demoted, reassigned, sure. Fired would mean she doesn’t have a job with the company anymore.

Not in Trump’s world. He “re-assigns” rather than fire because firing implies he made a mistake in hiring. He learned this in his first term when his constant firing drew attention.

Uh that is a very second term thing.

Trump fired a ton of people in his first term, and he used to have a sort of catchphrase around it.

My guess is that there are/will be two levels of removal:

          1. Moving to another job because you’re a Good Soldier and will Keep Your Mouth Shut about the countless things they aren’t telling us, or

          2. The window method popularized by our President’s real constituent
