China launched two investigations into U.S. trade practices on Friday, signaling its resolve to push back against Donald Trump’s tariffs ahead of his visit in May.
The Commerce Ministry said the new probes are a response to two investigations announced by Trump earlier this month against multiple countries, including China.
A ministry statement said the two Chinese investigations were launched to safeguard the interests of relevant Chinese industries and expressed “firm opposition” to the American probes.


It would be for the good of the world if all nations could agree that blatant breaches of contract will not be tolerated - and certainly not blackmail. That is precisely what organized crime, which now openly rules the U.S., means by “the art of the deal” - and “no deal” would be the logical response to that.
