    Comparing budgets (and thinking that this meant something) is a very, very Usamerican mistake.

      Russia has 1 aircraft carrier that’s been in dry dock for a decade.

      The US has 300% more military aircraft.

      Russia has about 10 foreign military bases. The US has almost 800.

      Russia has 25% more tanks.

      They’re about equal in number of active duty. US has more reserve.

      The US Navy is significantly larger than Russia’s.

        That’s a lot better, comparing actual things rather than abstractions. But there is still some bias. For example, you looked only at things that Usa has, and ignored things that Russia has but Usa hasn’t.

          Like more nukes? Like more artillery? Can’t invade with nukes. Artillery can’t protect long supply chains across vast flat territory when your opponent has HIMARS and triple the air power.
