Former President Trump’s legal team suggested Tuesday that even a president directing SEAL Team Six to kill a political opponent would be an action barred from prosecution given a former executive’s broad immunity to criminal prosecution.
The hypothetical was presented to Trump attorney John Sauer who answered with a “qualified yes” that a former president would be immune from prosecution on that matter or even on selling pardons.
Israel and Gaza are not on the US’ presidential ballot. Fending off a fascist autocrat that will make this our last semi free election, is on the ballot. Any argument about anything else is moot, and staying home is a vote for Trump. You’re right, but the work doesn’t end at this election. There’s a long road of reforms or revolution required to move away from the conditions that made these two the only “options”. And your representatives aren’t going to do it for you.
