34 minutes agoRegular bikes don’t have a motor. E-bikes and e-scooters do have a motor. Some regulation on e-bikes may be needed, but regular bikes have been regulated as much as is needed. Maybe a helmet law, but even that seems unnecessary.

Funny thing about Qualified Immunity… It’s illegal, and had the 1982 SCOTUS been handed the original wording of the law, they wouldn’t have any immunity. The law in question was illegally changed by one dude.

You are expecting Americans to do something that has never been done. The US Civil War doesn’t count, because while those people would have eventually turned to fascism, in the moment they were all about slavery and states rights, not corporate rights.

Not sinks, but somee asshat in my high school wrecked two entire bathrooms, one boys one girls, by throwing a chunk of sodium down a toilet while it was flushing. The sodium exploded and blew all the toilets off the wall. This was back in 94-96.

It was so right there, that my brain autocorrected their comment to read as such.
Most people cannot ride a bike at anywhere close to the speeds that an e-bike or e-scooters can hit. I pass professional cycling teams daily on my e-bike because I can do 20mph. The average professional cyclist seems to struggle to maintain 15mph. I only get passed by a normal bicycle maybe once every few months. My current e-bike has just under 2500 miles on the odo, my previous one blew up at just over 11,000 miles. Oh, and technically both e-bikes could do 25 mph, that just wears out the motor in less than 1000 miles.
