The tabby (Eddie) had a “brother” that was about the same age and we adopted them both a couple of years ago. The brother was lost to cancer. Eddie was very sad for a while after.
Then we adopted the younger black one, and the tabby has been a lot happier having another friend around.

OP12 can run custom ROM. I’ve tried YAAP, but there was a couple oddities, so back on stock. ETA bootloader unlock was as simple as fastboot commands.
