PLA is biodegradable. Just only under industrial conposter conditions so yeah still a problem.
But a plastic is just a chain of polymers, it makes it difficult but not impossible to biodegradability depending on chemical and structure. Almost all plastics don’t but some do

I think its more she’s telling Fern to be less judgemental for Stark. He has no experience and when she had none either, Fern also froze. She was experienced by the time she got to Qual.

I feel this episode was kind of weak for a finale. Mana was introduced but she never shows up again, she didn’t even get her second scene, and both Ruby and Kana’s high points felt very short. It feels like they decided to set up season 2 more than actually wrapping up the season. Still a good episode but lacking for a finale.
