I didn’t think I was still capable of being shocked but the nazi salute at the president’s podium did actually shock me a little. They fuckers are not even trying to pretend any more. TBF many people are more intimidated by emails. My mum, for example, is in her 70s - she’s okay with using a smartphone but she doesn’t trust ‘internet stuff’. Won’t put her card details in, doesn’t trust emails - which is fair, because a lot of emails are bullshit or scams. She grew up with telephones though and feels safer using them. Possibly why so many phone scams target older people. I’ve tried to educate her.

Yeah that’s a fair point. Thing is, I don’t know what to do about this shit (Gestures to world). I used to get involved in a lot of direct action when I was younger but I’m a bit old for that now. And I can’t really say that all the times I got battered by the police, arrested on airbases, shit like that - I’m not sure I made any difference at all. Some of those actions made headlines but those were mostly negative. And I know people say “Vote!” - but I do, and that doesn’t seem to help either.

So yeah, sometimes I just don’t use the stove for a while. I just feel a bit fuckin defeated.

Sometimes when it gets overwhelming I don’t do any news or social media at all for a few weeks. It seems to help my mental health, particularly when every bit of news suggests that everything is going to shit.

Yeah, something like this is pretty much inevitable. We have large, dense populations of humans living in close proximity with animals. Stuff of going to jump the species gap, and yeah it’ll probably be much worse than COVID, which was not that severe in terms of death rates.

I don’t think AI will replace human creativity when it comes to art. It’s soulless. I know that’s a subjective judgement but it’s one I think almost all of us would make.

Most demanding thing I’ve tried on it was beam ng drive, it ran but struggled a bit. I’ve never yet been unable to play something I wanted to on it.

Yeah, I was shopping for lithium on phosphatase leisure batteries maybe two years ago and was looking at spending over £1000 per battery. Now those batteries are not much over £100 and prices still seem to be falling.
