I actually like what they’ve done in later seasons, but you are 100% correct that they didn’t do enough to earn breaks of this size like Sopranos and Breaking Bad did.

Also, these producers need to stop green lighting shows with kids in the lead rolls without a plan in place for cranking it out if successful. The leads in ST will be 30 (HYPERBOLE) by the time they finish, and the final season is supposed to start right after the 4th season ended. It’d be like if the final Harry Potter just started shoot yesterday. People might notice.

Like you, I braced for the worst and actually liked it quite a bit. I think the changes they made were fairly well done.

I would say Avatar is a solid American homage to anime, but the average tv viewer would see the art style and assume that it’s anime so most outlets are just framing it that way.

Not the OP, but the Kia thefts were on their lower trim packages that did not have push to start options and used keyed ignition instead. Any of their PHEVs or hybrid models tend to only have the higher trim packages so they can charge more for them (I own a Kia Niro PHEV), and the push to start keyless starters have the immobilizer installed. It’s started to die down a bit on the thefts, but make sure that the model you’re looking at has push to start AND immobilizer installed before buying.

I love my Kia, and I would recommend them highly based on my personal experience, but just make sure you research before picking one up.

Last election was in 2019, and they’re usually every 5 years. The next one has to be set for no later than January 2025, but could be earlier than that.

At a local Italian place called Ozzie’s, they used to have a crab pasta that is easily my favorite dish from any restaurant I’ve ever been to (like lick the plate good). He had to give me a few minutes to mourn, and to this day I still feel sad/hopeful when I go back in and look at the menu. Fuck. Now I’m sad again.

I’m just mad about what we all collectively lost by not getting a healthy 49ers in the NFC championship game last year. Maybe they still lose, maybe they win, but we are all worse off for not having both teams at 100% for that entire game. Here’s hoping we get the rematch in this year’s playoffs.
